Caraquet to Kouchibouguac National Park

I am sitting in the dark in the van typing.

Marilyn is sound asleep at 10:15 Atlantic Time.
I am the late night person of the crowd.
I just returned from a brisk hike through the camground.
I went out for an evening walk along the river path.
I decided to take a different path back-big mistake.

I ended up on another loop
that did not link back to our campsite.
Well, 45 minutes later after a brisk hike,
I retraced my steps back just as it was getting dark

This camground is a nice wooded site that has a long bike/
walking path along the river and the bay.

Our last campsite was totally different.
It was located just outside of Caraquet,NB.
Caraquet is in the midst of a two week festival
 ending on National Acadia Day,
celebrated on August 15th ,Our Lady of Assumption Day.
The camground was packed with summer residences.
Many of the sites were decorated with bright lights,
red/white/blue New Brunswick Flags and ornaments.

Crowds of family and friends gather at campsite late into the evening.
Others in the campsite went into Caraquet for the festival activities.
A different idea of summer vacation than mine
but interesting to observe.

On our way to Kouchibouguac
we took a trip out to a Miscou Point Lighthouse.
National Park
It was the second lighthouse erected on the shores of the Gulf of the St Lawrence.

We stopped on the Miscou bog boardwalk on the way back from the lightouse.
Miscou has 8 bogs covereing 45 percent of the surface of the land.
The afternoon skies cleared for a second day of sun for us.

We have decided to stay a day here kayaking in the morning and hiking in the afternoon.

One further note.
I have been informed my blog site
contains typing errors,
grammatical errors and dropped letters.
This is typical of my writing.
Please forgive my poor writing style.
