Kayak, Bike Hike!
We have a beautiful day here in Kouchibouguac Park.
This morning we rented kayaks fand paddled
up Kouchibouguac River.
It felt good to be on the water again.
After lunch Roger and I rented bikes.
Kouchibouguac has 60 km of bike trails.
We rode along the shoreline for an hour.
Later this Afternoon we hiked a bog trail.
"A bog is an acidic wetland without moving water.
Bogs are where compressed undecayed plant matter
mostly spahagnum has accumulated over time.
The dome bog grows upward and conditions become wetter.
The forest may eventually be overrun by the bog.
Many of the knee high black spruce
in this bog are 100 year old trees."
(per signs along the boardwalk)

Kaouchibouguac Park is a green campground in every sense.
It is lush and green. The sites are spaced apart with lots of trees.
The campground also recycles dry and wet material,
butane containers, household batteries,
medical hazardous waste and redeemable containers
