August 17,
It rained most of the night.
None of us wanted to face the day.
I slept to 7:30 and finally forced myself out of bed.
We decided it was a good day to do laundry.
Marilyn and Wanda stayed at the laundrymat
while Roger and I hung out at the bakery and surfed the net.
We proceeded 34 km down the road stopping along the way for the views.
We managed another bog hiked.
I commented we seem to be getting bogged down
in bog hikes-lots of groans!
We are now camped just outside of Pleasant Bay
Tomorrow we plan to go out on Capt Marks boat whale watching.
The sun actually came out this afternoon.
We are camped at a small campsite, McIntosh Campground.
Canada National Parks have nice shelter areas
for tent campers,cross-crounty skiers and cyclist.
The shelter is enclosed with tables, wood burning stove and sink.
Yesterday a group of women bicyclist spent the night in the shelter.
Very nice shelters especially with this weather.
We heard predictions of several days of sunshine.
Canadian tourism propaganda!
