Camping!

I do no like to camp in campgrounds normally.

This trip we do not have much choice.

Last night we camped in an unserviced,10 tent campground in the National Park.

Basically it was a picnic area with flush toilets and 

water that required two minute boiling prior to using for any purpose.

It did have a nice shelter area for tent campers and cyclist.

Two other group of people were camped with us last night.

A couple from the Finger Lake area was tent camping across from us.

The couple was recently married on their honeymoon.

We took over a bottle of wine and blueberry pie as a "wedding" gift.

The other group had rented a tour Canada Rv in Halifax.

The group was a family of parents, three boys and two dog from British Columbia.

As soon as the RV parked the boys jumped out and started battling with "noodles" for about an hour.

Later that evening I spotted the family in the shelter. 

The mother was plotting the trip with a map, 

father relaxing on the floor and 

the children playing hockey with plastic sticks.

Tonight we are at South Harbor at an private campground.

We are camped next to a couple form Sheffield England.

In front of us are touring cyclist with tents.

It seems quiet a few people cycle the Cabot Trail road.

The cyclist all look hardy and healthy with ages ranging form 20's to 70's

This morning we woke to sun shine and nice weather.

We took the first whale boat from Pleasant Bay Harbor with Capt Mark's at 9:30 .

We had about 20 people on board.

We left from the harbor and travel straight out for about 45 minutes without any sitings.

We finally saw pilot whales about 11:30.

About 6-8 swam near our boat.  

The water was rough and most of us ended up wet.

Our trip was due back at 11:00.

We made it bac kto the harbor about 12:00.

The waters were so rough that I was a little queasy.

After lunch we headed back toward Cheticamp to hike the Skyline Trail

The trail took us out to an overlook with a view of Cheticamp.

We caught a glimpse of several moose along the way.

I am once again typing in the dark as Marilyn sleeps.

Tomorrow I will upload this posting to my blog site.

We get Wifi connection infrequently.

I have to head to the Rec center early for the connection. 

I think we are headed to the Bay of Fundy next.
